Selling something back returns you half the coins you paid for it, but you lose any beauty that it gives to the tank.

You also earn XP for feeding your fish when they get hungry (usually 10 to 40 XP per fish) and for cleaning their tank (usually 2 XP per algae spot). For every fish, you earn 1 XP for every 5 coins you spend. Everything in a category basically earns you the same reward. Note that it doesn’t really matter what you buy. So if you hoard your coins, you’re artificially lowering your match-3 score. You get a bonus to your match-3 score based on your current level and your level is based on how much stuff you have spent on your aquarium. While I could get the gold time bonus only about half the time, I almost always got the silver time bonus and I don’t think I was ever in any danger of failing a level completely.įor the aquarium part, the main thing is to not hoard coins. It’s basically the same as finishing the level in the slowest time allowed. You don’t get any time bonus at all, which means fewer coins per level. This disables the timer on levels, but I would not recommend enabling it. In the options menu, you can enable “Relaxed Mode”. Often, if you mess up this gimmick (like using a bomb to clear a locked square instead of unlocking it by a match), it messes up the gimmick and clearing that area becomes hard or impossible. Some boards have areas that are meant to be unlocked through a particular gimmick. Try to make combinations of 5 (either in a single line, or two intersection lines of 3) as these create bombs which are very useful. You generally want to try to work at the locked squares and edges first as they are the hardest to match. While the location of items on the board is fixed, the layout of the actual symbols is random. Sometimes gold/silver tiles will be hidden underneath wood or dirt blocks so even if it looks like you’re all done, you might not be. In the dirt can be hidden gold, gems, or artifacts and these must be cleared to finish the level.
